\r\n\tOur mission at (Early Intervention Colorado) is to help families meet the developmental needs of their children, birth to three who have special needs, with the context of the families’ routines. (Early Intervention Colorado refers to both San Juan Kids and Southwest Kids programs).

\r\n

\r\n\tWe are a federally funded program administered through Community Connections Inc. that serves families in La Plata, Archuleta and San Juan counties (San Juan Kids) and Montezuma, Dolores Counties (Southwest Kids).  We are the connecting point for families to find the resources they may need for their child who has a diagnosed condition associated with delays or who is not quite reaching a particular milestone such as walking, talking, thinking, moving etc.

\r\n

\r\n\tSan Juan Kids values families’ routines, so if services are needed they are provided in the child’s natural environment, that is- where the child spends his or her day and during the activities that the child and family are normally experiencing. We are aware that children develop at their own pace.  It is nearly impossible to predict when your child will learn a given skill; however the milestones below will give you guidelines and red flags for when to contact either your pediatrician or our agency with your concerns or questions.
